NUTRITION MISSION

This was my first team opportunity to design and create one level of a game, aimed at teaching children about nutrition for an interactive course (see the LieutenAnt for my second opportunity in game creating with a different role!). Fulfilling my part as Artistic Director, I had fun creating the different components required for the game and problem-solving to bring the Game Designer’s vision to life (colleague Lisa Revette). Racing against time, players need the proper fuel to speed up and reach the finish line in time. Learning goals included learning to eat the right ratios of vegetables, fruits, proteins, grains, and dairy, while being cautioned of the effect of sweets (one too many treats causes a sugar crash!)

I provided all the visual components for the game: the UI icons, the scenery, the character, and food elements, which required fast and efficient modeling, painting, and importing of components not created directly in Unity. This was a great exercise in practicing efficient workflows and working as a team to produce something of value!
